What does artificial turf cost?

The factors that set the price of an artificial turf project, and how to compare quotes.

The biggest cost factors

Six things drive the price of every turf job:

  • Square footage. The size of the area drives the amount of turf, base material and labor.
  • Base preparation. Removing existing grass, grading and compacting a drainage base is a large share of every job.
  • Turf selection. Higher face weight and taller pile mean more yarn per square yard.
  • Site access. Tight side yards or areas without equipment access take more labor.
  • Shape and seams. Curves, borders and multiple sections add cutting and seaming time.
  • Extras. Infill, putting cups, pet deodorizer, edging and drainage upgrades.

How to compare quotes

Compare the job, not just the total. Ask every installer for the exact product, its face weight and pile height, the base depth and material, and the warranty. Two quotes for “artificial grass” can describe very different jobs.

Because The Turf Factory makes its own turf, there is no distributor between the factory and your project.

Long-term savings

Turf removes the ongoing costs natural grass carries: water, mowing, fertilizer, weed control and reseeding. Our landscape turf is backed by a 16-year pro-rated warranty. See the warranty terms for coverage by product.
