The closest island city we serve
Indian Harbour Beach is about 10 minutes from our Aurora Rd location, straight across the Eau Gallie Causeway. It’s a small, mostly residential barrier-island city of about 2.7 square miles, founded in 1955, with Gleason Park at its center and SR A1A running its length.
Being this close makes the estimate easy to schedule. We measure the yard, bring samples you can compare in your own light, and talk through what the space is for.
Front lawns that look real
Indian Harbour Beach homes sit close to the street, so the front lawn is on display. For curb-side yards, we usually recommend Luxe Flow 75. It’s our fullest landscape turf: a tall 1.875-inch S-blade in three greens with a two-tone thatch. For narrow side yards and strips along the driveway, Tropical Flow 50 is a lighter, lower-cost option.
Florida law now protects most homeowners who want front-yard turf. On single-family lots of one acre or less, § 125.572 stops local governments from banning turf that meets the state’s installation standard. HOA rules are separate, so check with your association if you have one.
What the state standard requires
Florida’s turf rule (DEP Rule 62-308.100, effective May 2026) sets the minimum for every residential install:
- permeable turf over a washed crushed-rock or similar natural base
- natural infill such as sand
- no heavy metals or added PFAS
- anchored edges and seams
- a 10-foot setback from the water unless a seawall is in between
Our turf is lead and PFAS free, and we build to that standard on every job.
Water and fertilizer
Indian Harbour Beach is in the City of Melbourne water service area, with watering days set by the St. Johns River Water Management District. Its fertilizer ordinance bans nitrogen and phosphorus from June 1 to September 30. Turf needs neither water nor fertilizer, so those rules no longer apply to your lawn.
