How we build indoor turf projects
Why St. Louis trains indoors
Outdoor fields here lose a lot of days to weather. NOAA’s 1991–2020 normals for Lambert airport show about 85 nights a year at or below freezing, about 19 days when the high never gets above freezing, 16.6 inches of snow and 41.7 inches of total precipitation. The median last spring freeze isn’t until April 2.
An indoor space keeps cage work, speed training and team practice on the calendar regardless.
A sports town that plays year-round
Soccer runs deep here. St. Louis teams were drawing crowds of about 2,000 by 1882, the St. Louis Soccer League (1907 to 1939) was the country’s only fully professional league of its day, and five of the eleven players on the 1950 U.S. World Cup team came from St. Louis. St. Louis City SC began MLS play in 2023, and the St. Louis Ambush play indoor soccer at the Family Arena in St. Charles.
One team for the whole build
We build the entire interior, not just the floor. That means the turf, the walls, the netting and the batting cages, planned and installed as one project. Walls are pro walls (hockey-style dasher boards) or padded walls, whichever the space needs. You deal with one team and one schedule instead of coordinating separate trades, and the cage lanes, netting lines and turf layout are drawn together so they work together.
The floor: Legacy Speed
Most indoor floors get Legacy Speed:
- 3/4-inch slit-film blade
- 48 oz face weight, short and dense for sprints, sleds and drills
- 5mm foam pad underneath
- No infill, so there are no rubber pellets to track through the building
- 10-year warranty
It’s made in U.S.A. and lead & PFAS free.
Who we build for

Questions
Before you get a quote
Do you build more than the turf floor?
Yes. We handle the entire build: the turf, the walls, the netting and the batting cages. For walls we build pro walls (hockey-style dasher boards) or padded walls, whichever the space needs. It’s a specialty for us, and planning it as one project keeps the layout and ball containment working together.
Which turf do you use indoors?
Most indoor floors get Legacy Speed: a 3/4-inch slit-film blade at 48 oz face weight on a 5mm foam pad, with no infill. It carries a 10-year warranty.
Can you work in an existing building?
Yes. We walk the space first, measure it and plan the cages, netting and turf around what’s there, then give you a written price for the full build.
How long does a facility build take?
It depends on the size of the space and what goes into it. We give you a schedule along with the written price after the site visit.
